This is a reminder that if you will be traveling outside the U.S. over
the summer break to please check the travel validation signature on the
3rd page of your I-20. This signature is valid for one year from the
date of the signature for re-entry into the U.S. If your return to the
U.S. will be beyond one year from the date of the current signature on
the 3rd page please bring your I-20 by the ISSO and fill out a request
form for I-20 endorsement for travel (see link below). Also, please be
sure to confirm that your passport and visa are valid for re-entry into
the U.S. For more information on traveling outside the U.S. on an F1
visa please go to the following link:
http://www.ice.gov/sevis/travel/faq_f.htm

If your visa or passport has expired and you will be traveling outside
the U.S. you will need to renew it before you can re-enter the U.S.
Passports may be renewed in your home country or at your country's
embassy in the U.S. Visas can only be renewed outside the U.S. and it
is preferred that students renew their visa in their home country.
Also, we recommend that students who are renewing their visa to make a
request for a visa renewal letter from the ISSO at
www.tamu-commerce.edu/international. For more information on visa
renewal please go to
http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html

If you will be returning to the U.S. after the start of the Fall
semester on August 25, 2008, we strongly recommend you request a letter
from your professors stating that they are aware you will be returning
late and they have approved your late return.

Be sure to pay your tuition and fees before leaving or while you are at
home before first class day if you are returning after first class day.
