[Intl-stu] Scholarship Deadlines

[International Students]

Subject: Scholarship application deadline is soon and misinformation
about scholarship eligibility.

I wanted to send out a reminder that the scholarship deadlines are
coming up. The deadline to apply for a University Scholarship is this
Friday, April 25, 2008. The deadline to apply for a Housing
Scholarship is May 1, 2008. If you are interested in applying for a
scholarship please apply as soon as possible! Just because you have not
received a scholarship in the past DOES NOT mean you cannot apply for
one for the 2008-2009 academic year. To apply go to
http://www7.tamu-commerce.edu/scholarship/.

It has come to our attention that many of our newer students are not
aware of or are being told by other students that they are not eligible
for scholarships. This might have been true in the past but is not true
now because the scholarship office has gone through some changes.

Please understand that if you have any academic, scholarship, or
immigration related questions it is better to contact our office than to
trust in the advice of friends. The policies and regulations related to
academics, scholarships, and immigration change regularly and our office
is constantly working to be up to date with the current information. We
would really hate for students to miss out on opportunities because they
were misinformed.
