Subject:  Website has been updated with information regarding OPT
applications:  http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/international/

 

There is a "Frequently Asked Questions" for both the 12-month OPT and
17-month OPT extension.  Please bear with us as the update is new and
there may be a few bugs to work out.  The application process for the
17-month OPT extension is provided on the website.  

 

USCIS has informed us that the SEVIS database will not be updated until
Friday, April 18, 2008.  The ISSO will not begin scheduling appointments
for the OPT extension until Monday, April 21, 2008 unless there is an
unforeseen issue with the USCIS update.  Please understand there will be
limited times available for OPT appointments that week as our office
will be conducting OPT workshops.  Follow the instructions on the
website to schedule an OPT appointment.  

 

Please be sure to check our website on Wednesday afternoon as there will
be new updates to the OPT changes.
