SUBJECT: Katrina Hurricane Transfer Students

 

I am sure that all of us are aware of Katrina Hurricane and its impacts. To
help students who are impacted by Katrina, our university has agreed to
accept up to 500 students who want to transfer to our school for Fall 05.

International students impacted by Katrina who are admitted to our school
will be treated as transfer students in SEVIS. The International Student
Services staff is prepared to accommodate these students and help them with
the SEVIS transfer process after they have been admitted to our school by
the admission office. 

 

If you know of any Katrina impacted students, please ask them to contact me
directly for SEVIS transfer process. It is important that these students
follow the guidelines given by the Homeland Security Department (DHS) to
avoid being out-of-status.
