PROPOSED system regulation 31.05.01 regarding Faculty Consulting and External Employment is attached for your review and comment.  We seek interested party’s review and feedback.

There has been a significant revision in this regulation and it remains in draft form.  The attached is not the proposed regulation so much as it is a draft for review and input.  As you and your faculty formulate thoughts/concerns I hope you will contact me or Brooks Moore with your concerns and recommended changes.  We are trying to create a regulation that walks the line of following legal requirements while still facilitating/encouraging consulting and IP development.

Please share this draft regulation revision and the accompanying form with your Faculty Governance structures and encourage them to provide input to us.  We hope to receive input/recommendations from both faculty and administration.  At your discretion, they are welcome to contact me directly.
