Good Morning:

Please keep in mind that SACS uses the mission statement as THE primary
measure the determine if we are doing our jobs. And it is a nested
system.
The program mission derives from the college mission which derives from
the university mission. So what we are doing here is voting on our job
description.

And since we will be judged by SACS on how well we fulfill our mission,
we must have a mission we can measure. So even though something may
sound catchy or even inspiring, we have to be able to prove we achieving
it. Which means it has to be measurable.

The first line of each choice is the new University Mission, the second
line is the proposed college mission, and the third line is whatever you
come up with later at the program level. Since the actual third line
(your program mission) must derive from the second line, we have to know
what the second line is before you can craft the final critical entry.
So let's get cracking!

Got that???? :-)

Given the number of options, I suggest we do this as an "instant runoff"
as in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting. Select your
#1, #2, and #3 choice from the list below and respond with your vote in
rank order. For example: 6-4-2, or 1-3-5, etc. Send your vote to
lisa_rabe at tamu-commerce.edu by 5PM on Tuesday, February 21st.
