We did talk about the possibilities of a flast option but apparently
there are too many "John/James/Josh/Justin Jones" possibilities out
there to make it bulletproof. That said, an individual can also set up
an alias.

Use of underscore and dashes are really bad for email use. Even some
scientific journals and online forms have had problems with including
our tamuc email addresses.

My vote:
B) first.last at tamuc.edu

If I may suggest, flast at tamuc.edu where "f" is the first name initial
would be better.
