Greeting CMS Editors,
Quick tip for the month:
Have you wondered if it is ok to enter sensitive/confidential
information on your website or in Cascade?
Quick answer - No. The primary University website is public, and cannot
be made to ensure that the material is accessible to only authorized
users or groups. Hidden links do not prevent access. Automatic indexing
means that hidden links are only slightly harder to find than public
links. All published pages are found by Google and other search engines
automatically.
If there is a need to enter sensitive/confidential information in
Cascade, an option is available to prevent a page (asset) from being
published by unchecking the 'Include when publishing' checkbox (see
attached screen shot).
Select page with sensitive/confidential information > select Edit >
select System > click on the Publish checkbox to uncheck 'Include when
publishing' > Submit
