Illinois is having a regional conference: The NIU English Articulation
Conference at Allerton Park in Monticello, Illinois (about 25 miles
west of U of I Champaign-Urbana, which owns Allerton). While the
discussion is on teaching writing at all levels, a large segment of the
conference always focuses on developmental writing. Here's the link:

I understand the history of having the workshop, but it is truethat
many contingent faculty can't travel to C's. It might beinteresting to
find out how much interest there is. I would be willingto *help*

AM >>>Yes, I've seen the posts on the CBW listserv, and have been
consideringaresponse. I very much like the idea of regional
conferences. So many BWeducators are part-time folks who cannot afford
CCCC-- and whose needsarenot necessarily addressed at regional TYCAs.I
welcome suggestions from exec committee-- and then would
takeresponsibility to respond to the listserv. My deadline for
responseswouldbe tomorrow morning, as I'm away from email Friday and
Saturday for aconference in CT. Wonderful to see all of you last
