Hi, again--
My research interests include multiple literacies (really anything
associated with out-of-school literacies and comparisons to in-school ones,
especially via the theoretical framework provided by the New Literacy
Studies), community literacy, public policy as it relates to (and
infects/shapes) writing instruction, and developing new ways to involve fyc
students and students enrolled in basic writing courses in the scholarly
conversations in writing/literacy studies (especially via ethnography).
I guess in more general terms they are writing center studies, basic writing
studies, prison literacy, and literacy studies--especially potential
applications of the New Literacy Studies and activity theory to these
spaces. Other, related interests include conservative rhetoric and academic
labor issues.

Hello Susan (and the CBW Exec board),
Not too unlike Marcia, my interests include placement into reading and
writing classes, teaching in a computer classroom, writing center/tutoring
writing, Alaska Native/American Indian history of education, indigenous
issues with education/writing, and then I have a zillion other areas....
-northern poetry
-student success programs (learning communities, linked courses)
-Japanese classic films....
;)

Hi Susan,
My interests include placement into writing classes, ACT/SAT issues,
pedagogy (including the
use of computer programs for writing/bw grammar etc.), autobiography/memoir,
basic writing,
and autism/disability issues. I'd like to suggest that sometimes folks who
aren't "experts" can
nonetheless spot problems in the logic, tone, etc. I often ask for people
who aren't necessarily
experts to read what I've written and often receive really good, really
valid responses from them.
Marcia
Hello everyone.
I have 3 submissions for BWe eagerly awaiting review. Would you send me a
list of your research/teaching expertise/interests so that we can begin the
review process?
Thanks and best,
Susan
