Sorry about the delay in getting this one posted, folks. For some reason the
system kept requiring me to authorize Marcia's post, which I thought I did
about three different times. I finally figured out what was happening and
fixed it (a tiny variation in the email address--ribbleml at uc.edu versus
ribbleml at ucmail.uc.edu). Now you should be able to post without requiring my
approval.
Thanks for your patience!

I like the suggestions to charge grad students less and to split the
sessions of the workshop,
however, I'm concerned that by splitting the sessions we might lose a few
folks who get involved
with other groups. For examply, I tried splitting myself that way to attend
the RNF sessions one
year and found it difficult to make the transition. Made me long for
bi-location so I could do both
simultaneously.

Thanks Susan.
My concerns are
1. There is a $30 student fee for the entire CCCC convention , but that only
applies to "full-time students."
What I'm proposing is that the $30 fee apply for all grad students
regardless of whether they are enrolled full-time or part-time. (I don't
even know what constitutes part-time or full-time for a grad student
attending CCCC. It's not spelled out.)
2. For the pre-convention workshops, the fees are the same for everyone: $40
for an all-day workshop and $20 for a half-day workshop. And if you attend
only 1/2 of an all-day workshop, you still pay $40. There are no reduced
fees for grad students or contingent faculty.
3. One thing that would make CBW immediately more accessible to grad
students and contingent faculty would be forming two half-day workshops at
$20 each. That wouldn't require a change in fee structure. And I think some
people only want to attend CBW preconvention workshop for 1/2 day for
several different reasons.
