Susan,
Contacting Eileen Mailey is a good idea. Also contacting Chuck Bazerman. I
would hate to see just one half-day workshop being accepted. That would not be
good.

Last year, I was involved in proposing the newly formed MA Consortium --which
met for the first time every on Wednesday night at this recent CCCC. Our
request didn't fit into any exising framework for proposals: it was not a
pre-convention workshop, SIG, or panel. The MA Consortium proposers contacted Cheryl
Glenn directly and received permission to hold an open meeting on Wednesday
night. The MA Consortium was even mentioned as a featured session in the program.
The Doctoral Consortium has the same dilemma. The Doctoral Consortium holds
its business meeting and an open meeting one right after the other and
negotiates a mention on the CCCC program and a guaranteed room each year.
I say this to point to the fact that special arrangements need to be made to
accommodate some groups.
CBW is similar to the Doctoral Consortium and the newly formed MA Consortium
(which grew out of the Doctoral Consortium). CBW has a business meeting and
needs a room allocation for that meeting.
