Hi everyone,
I've been reading with some interest the suggestions that Barbara has
made regarding the precon workshops and the cost to grad students. I
spoke with a few grad students here to see what they think, and if
splitting the workshops in two would make a difference to them (in
addition to getting to pay the reduced fee regardless of status).

Despite the obvious prohibitive costs of traveling to the host city,
the students I spoke with favor the idea of two 1/2 day workshops
rather than one full day, for most of the reasons stated. Should
CCCCs come to a city they could afford to travel to, they would be
far more inclined to attend two 1/2 day workshops and like the
flexibility and selectivity this affords them.
