My name is Laura Young, and I am the Sr. Program Manager of the Texas Child & Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN/PeriPAN) for Northeast Texas. Our team sits within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and is part of UT Tyler School of Medicine.



I am reaching out as our team is searching for a quality social worker to join our ever-growing team. Although I have had a position open for nearly four months now, I have been unable to identify a quality candidate. I am hoping with your exposure to students who have recently graduated, you may have a high-performing individual who would like to join a high-performing team. It would be my preference to have a master's level social worker, but with the limited quality candidates, I would consider a well-rounded BSW who is mature, eager to learn, and a go-getter. As you know, a position with a university is an incredible opportunity for someone new in their career.



The role I'm hiring for is a "Behavioral Health Liaison" and is responsible for working directly with providers and clinics, supporting the mental health needs of their patients, all telephonically. Specifically, our team receives calls from providers (and their support staff) across the 25-county northeast Texas counties and assesses the needs of each caller. Calls typically include determining if the provider needs to speak directly with one of our psychiatrists (child or reproductive) or assistance with obtaining vetting mental health resources. Occasionally, we receive calls asking for assistance in determining if a patient is in crisis and needs a higher level of care.



My ask - Someone who has a passion for helping providers across Northeast Texas care for the mental health needs of their pediatric (age 0-22 years) or maternal (preconception/pregnant/postpartum up to one year) patients?
