Hello,

My name is Sofia Nicholson Barnes and I am a Hiring Specialist with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).  The hiring team, in the Tarrant and Dallas County Region are putting together an Open House for students interested in the social service field. This would provide students an opportunity to meet actual DFPS employees and DFPS hiring staff who would be able to answer questions they may have regarding our positions and the hiring process.   We can walk them through the entire application process.

The Open House is scheduled for November 5th from 2:00 - 4:00.

The location will be:
Department of Family and Protective Services
Lone Star Room 2nd Floor
801 S. State Highway 161
Grand Prairie, Texas 75051

If you are able, please provide this information to your students.  I have also attached a flyer that can be posted regarding the event.  Please limit the Open House to students who have a strong interest in working in the social services field and who are set to graduate in December of 2015.

We are interested in students who are currently pursuing degrees in the following areas: Child Development, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, Family Studies and additional people related degrees.  Feel free to forward this email to other department heads for distribution.

We can only accommodate 25 student so we are asking that they reserve their spot in advance. They must have an reserved spot.
