<p class="MsoNormal">The Faculty Senate hereby issues the call for nominations for the annual Faculty Senate faculty awards (with the exception of the Mayo Award this year). A list of all Faculty Awards, along with descriptions, can be found at the following

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Nomination Process:</b><br>
Senators from each department will submit to the Faculty Awards Committee a ballot listing
<b>one</b> nominee for each award. A copy of the ballot is attached to this email for reference. Faculty members may self-nominate by notifying their department’s Senator. Faculty can also nominate a colleague in their department by notifying the Senator. If
a Senator receives nominations for more than one individual for a particular award, the department should reach a consensus on which faculty member’s nomination will move forward. The Senate encourages all faculty members within a department to discuss and
agree on who should be nominated for a particular award.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Nominations should include:<o:p></o:p></p>
<ol style="margin-top:0in" start="1" type="1">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">The full name of the nominee<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">The nominee’s academic department<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">The nominee’s full email address<o:p></o:p></li></ol>
<p class="MsoNormal">Please use the attached spreadsheet to submit the ballot to <i>
<a href="mailto:Faculty.Awards@tamuc.edu">Faculty.Awards@tamuc.edu</a></i>. The nomination deadline is
<b><span style="background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow">November 15, 2024</span></b><span style="background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow">.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Selection Process:</b><br>
The chair of the Faculty Awards Committee, Dr. Hongmei Jia, will contact the nominated faculty members. This contact will occur by
<b>December 2, 2024</b>. If any faculty member nominated for an award has not been contacted by this deadline, they should reach out to Dr. Jia to ensure the nomination was received.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Dr. Jia will request supporting documentation from each nominee for the committee’s review. This documentation should be submitted via email to
<i><a href="mailto:Faculty.Awards@tamuc.edu">Faculty.Awards@tamuc.edu</a></i> by <b>
January 14, 2025</b>. The Faculty Awards Committee will review all application packets and, after careful deliberation, will make one recommendation per award (except for the Barrus Award, which can have up to three recipients). These recommendations will be
presented to the full Faculty Senate for approval at the March Senate meeting, scheduled for
<b>March 4, 2025</b>.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The award recipients will be announced at the Faculty Awards Ceremony, which will take place in the spring.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Please encourage all faculty in your department to participate. Faculty may self-nominate or nominate a colleague. If multiple faculty members from the same department are nominated for the same award, the department should vote to determine
which nominee moves forward. Thank you for your assistance in recognizing and celebrating the talents and dedication of your colleagues!<o:p></o:p></p>
