<p style="margin-left:27.0pt"><i><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has tasked the TAMUC University Core Curriculum Committee with implementing core curriculum guidelines. This committee
certifies each year that our existing core curriculum meets state coordinating board standards and has the authority to approve new courses for inclusion in the university’s general education requirements.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
<p style="margin-left:27.0pt"><i><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Departments proposing new core curriculum courses must complete the attached proposal form, which outlines the course, its intended purpose, and its alignment with
the selected Foundational Component of the core curriculum. Proposal packets must include a draft syllabus that details the course's learning outcomes and demonstrates how it meets the Core Objectives of the chosen component area. Additionally, syllabi should
provide examples of course content and assignments that illustrate compliance with the requirements of the selected component area. Please ensure that all syllabi submitted as part of the packet utilize the TAMUC syllabus template.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
<p style="margin-left:27.0pt"><i><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The proposal form is attached to this email and must be submitted to the Core Curriculum Committee Chair, Dr. Derrick McKisick, at
<a href="mailto:derrick.mckisick@tamuc.edu">derrick.mckisick@tamuc.edu</a>, no later than 5 PM on September 14, 2024. The committee may approve the proposal, reject it, or return it to the department for revisions.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p>
