<p class="MsoNormal"><i>Core Curriculum Call for Proposals (Fall 2023)</i><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><i>The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board charged the TAMUC University Core Curriculum committee with implementing core curriculum guidelines. The committee certifies every year that our existing core curriculum adheres to state
coordinating board standards and has the authority to approve new courses to become part of the university’s general education requirements.
</i><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i> </i><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i>Departments interested in proposing new core curriculum courses must complete the attached proposal that describes the course, its intended purpose, and how fits within the selected Foundational Component of the core curriculum. Proposal
packets must include a draft syllabus showing both the learning outcomes of the course and how the Core Objectives of the Foundational component area will be met. Syllabi should provide examples of course content and assignments that demonstrate the requirements
of the selected component area are addressed.</i><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i> </i><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i>The proposal form is attached to this email, and must be submitted to the Core Curriculum Committee Chair, Dr. Derrick McKisick,
</i><a href="mailto:derrick.mckisick@tamuc.edu"><i>derrick.mckisick@tamuc.edu</i></a><i>, no later than 5PM on September 23, 2023. The committee will approve the proposal, refuse the proposal, or send it back to the department for revisions.

<p class="MsoNormal"><i>The submitting department will need to enter the relevant course information into Course Leaf to meet Registrar Office deadlines. If approved, the course will be open to students as part of the core curriculum for the fall 2023 semester
