<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><em><span style="color:#0E101A">The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board charged the TAMUC University Core Curriculum committee with the implementation of core curriculum guidelines. The committee now certifies
each year that our existing core curriculum adheres to state coordinating board standards and has the authority to approve new courses to become part of the university's general education requirements. <o:p></o:p></span></em></p>
<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><em><span style="color:#0E101A">Departments interested in proposing new core curriculum courses must complete the attached proposal describing the course, its intended purpose, and the Foundational Component Area
where it would be placed. Proposal packets must include a draft syllabus showing the course's learning outcomes and how the Core Objectives of the Foundational component area will be met. Syllabi should provide examples of course content and assignments that
address the requirements of the selected component area.</span><o:p></o:p></em></p>

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><em><span style="color:#0E101A">The proposal form is attached to this email and must be submitted to the Core Curriculum Committee Chair, Dr. Derrick McKisick, </span></em><span style="color:#0E101A"><a href="mailto:derrick.mckisick@tamuc.edu" target="_blank"><em><span style="color:#0E101A">derrick.mckisick@tamuc.edu</span></em></a><em>,
