Many of you know Dr. Vornberg from his extensive tenure at TAMU-C, beginning in 1974. In addition to progression through faculty rank to tenured professor, Dr. Vornberg served the College of Education six years as department head and one and one-half years as interim dean. Known state-wide and beyond for his leadership in preparing school principals, leading such projects as the "Meadows Principal Improvement Program", Jim holds the Ph.D. and M.Ed. from the University of Arizona and the B.S. from Souteast Missouri State University. A college screening committee will begin reviewing applications for the permanent position this spring with the intent to secure a permanent appointment as early as June and no later than August. We are fortunate to have one of Dr. Vornberg's standing in the discipline to call upon for this role and look forward to working with him in the months ahead.

Gary G.
