are just one month away from our exciting fall start! I hope everyone has
had a wonderful summer and that you are eager for what our future year

are approaching the end of our orientation season and I wanted to extend a
special thank you to everyone who has participated in the sessions this
summer! In addition, we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we
have served one of our largest orientation groups ever! </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"'>The
last orientation session pressed on our facilities and the upcoming session
this week will be a challenge, as well. However, we are focused on our
enrollment goals and working hard to accommodate as many prospective students
as we can, while maintaining a welcoming and service-oriented
environment. Thank you for joining us with a spirit of service! </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"'>We
are always interested in making improvements to the process…no need to
wait until the next cycle! Please do not hesitate to share your
concerns. If we have been able to impact them immediately, we have done
so! The great news is that we have received many comments from the
families we have served this summer and have many satisfied folks! Most
of them are so appreciative of the help they receive from everyone with which
they interface. The advising and registration processes have improved
significantly and all of our participants have been appreciative of the ease.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"'>We
host our last advertised session this week on August 6<sup>th</sup> and 7<sup>th</sup>
(Thursday and Friday) and are anticipating over 300 students. As of now,
the majority of these students will be transfer students. The Office of
Orientation works diligently up until the day of orientation making reminder
calls, sending emails and responding to requests to change session dates,
majors, etc. We try not to make any major changes right before the
session occurs; however, it is important to note that things do constantly
change! Again, thank you for your patience!</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Century Gothic","sans-serif"'>I
also want to thank Luis Franco for his leadership and organization and thank
his team of student leaders, who are the main reason that we can pull these
off! In addition, I would like to extend my appreciation to Dr. Ricky
Dobbs, Wendy Gruver and the Success Coaches (Katrina, Erin, Elva and Jennifer)
for their contributions to the success of the orientations this summer!</span><o:p></o:p></p>

make-up orientation session, to accommodate late admits, will be held for one
