McBroom has been appointed by President Jones to serve as Interim Associate
Vice President for Academic Affairs in the Office of the Provost. The
appointment will minimally continue through Interim Provost Peer’s
appointment scheduled to end on either May 31 or August 31, 2009, and possibly
longer, depending upon subsequent review by Dr. McBroom, the incumbent Provost
and the President.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:#002060'>Dr.
McBroom’s responsibilities as Interim Associate Vice President will
include many of those formerly assigned to Dr. Sharon Johnson in addition to his
continued supervision of the Office of Institutional Research and the
University’s institutional effectiveness system; serving as
TAMU-C’s official campus liaison with SACS; overseeing university
curriculum, assessment and academic program matters; and coordinating student
academic appeals unresolved at the appropriate department or college level.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
