11.0pt'>The Office of Graduate Studies and Research has funds to support a
limited number of Research Assistants (RAs) in any discipline for the summer of
2008 to work on research projects. Research Assistants who receive these funds
must benefit from their work experience in that they make significant
advancement toward their degree and are better prepared for their professional
careers. Throughout the course of the award:<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

should ensure that RAs are being prepared professionally to meet their

face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>The accomplishments
of RAs should be integrated into research projects, and it is expected
that the results gained as a result of working on the project should form
the basis for the students’ thesis or dissertation. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>

face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>Faculty mentors
should help their RAs identify and attend appropriate conferences and
professional meetings to present their research results and to diligently
work with them on publishing manuscripts based on their research,
including their work for theses and dissertations. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>

should continue to work with their RAs to ensure that they are on track to

least three (3) hours of thesis (518) or dissertation (718) each summer

description of the project in nontechnical language, stressing the work

face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>current resume/vita
of student (including address, phone number, email and ID#)<o:p></o:p></span></font></li>

from major adviser<o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
