11.0pt'>Thanks to the efforts of all our graduate faculty, the university
experienced the single highest increase in graduate enrollment this fall.
Without a doubt, our Faculty are our best recruiters, each with his/her own
unique and innovative ideas to encourage top-quality students to Texas A &
M University-Commerce.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
11.0pt'>With this in mind, the Office of Graduate Studies and Research has once
again dedicated limited funds to enhance departmental recruiting efforts for
2007-08. These limited funds will be used to assist innovative recruiting
efforts by cost sharing the expense of recruiting activities. Departments
with low enrollments especially are encouraged to take advantage of this
opportunity.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
11.0pt'>A proposal, which describes the details of the planned activity and
expected outcome, must be submitted by the department head to the Office of
Graduate Studies and Research prior to the activity. For each activity, a
strong case must be made that the activity should result in attracting graduate
students to the university. Attached is a form to request the
cost-sharing funds. Please keep in mind that funds are limited, so early
planning will be essential to your funding.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
11.0pt'>Examples of recruiting activities include updating/creating
departmental brochures; recruiting at professional meetings/conferences;
collaborating/partnering with undergraduate institutions to encourage their
graduates to continue their education as a graduate student at
A&M-Commerce; and collaborating with school districts and regional service
centers.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
