12.0pt'>Last spring, the College of Arts and Sciences and the
VPAA-Provost’s office formed a task force for the purpose of examining
the University’s core curriculum—University Studies. The task
force has examined our program in light of directives from the Texas Higher
Education Coordinating Board regarding general education and other
universities’ core curricula. Before embarking upon an effort to revise
our core, the task force has decided to seek faculty and student input as well
as examine past efforts to assess University Studies undertaken at Texas
A&M University-Commerce.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
