for Faculty Development Grants<o:p></o:p></span></font></b></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>Faculty Development Grants are available for faculty through the
Faculty Development Committee. The grants are not intended to support basic
research. Grant proposals for basic research should be submitted to the <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType w:st="on">School</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Graduate Studies</st1:PlaceName></st1:place> and Research. Faculty
Development Grants are intended to help faculty enhance and/or update their
teaching and research skills.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>Funds will be allocated using the following guidelines:<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'> <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>The funds are
limited to one award per faculty member each academic year. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>The maximum award
will be $500. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Funds are for
full-time faculty only (adjuncts and VME faculty are ineligible). <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Preference will be
given to faculty who are developing tenure and promotion portfolios. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Grants will be
awarded twice a year. Fall semester September-December and the spring/summer
semesters January-August.<o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Funds must be
expended and all travel vouchers processed by August 28. Failure to submit
by deadline will result in loss of grant funding. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Applications must
include:<o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
</ul>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-indent:.25in'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>(1) the Faculty
Development Grant Application Form<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-indent:.25in'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>(2) a cover letter that
clearly explains the significance of the proposed activity for the applicant's
professional development;<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-indent:.25in'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>(3) if the applicant is
attending a seminar or workshop, documentation of their role ( for example, a
formal acceptance letter; the relevant page of conference program). <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

be signed by the applicant and the applicant's Department Head. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>

face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Incomplete
applications will not be accepted <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Confirmation will be
sent to applicants via email acknowledging receipt of packet. <o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
<li class=MsoNormal style='mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><font size=3
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>All applications
must be complete & received by the deadline. An application will not
be considered complete unless the packet contains confirmation or
verification of activity. If the applicant has not received confirmation,
an explanation must be provided in the cover letter. The confirmation
document must be provided as soon as possible. All awards, even if
approved by the committee, will not be granted or paid until a
confirmation document is received.<o:p></o:p></span></font></li>
