12.0pt'>The faculty senate at A&M-Commerce started working on plans for
initiating a faculty lounge at our university. Years ago, we used to have a
faculty lounge in the Heritage House on campus but after its renovation we lost
that facility, of course for legitimate reasons, as openly available for
faculty meetings and social interactions. President McFarland and Provost were
receptive to our idea. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>We are pleased to report that we finally will have a faculty lounge on
our campus. Lots of thanks go to Provost Ashley for allocating Binnion
Hall’s large room at the front (on <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address
w:st="on">Education Drive</st1:address></st1:Street> coming from <st1:Street
w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Monroe Street</st1:address></st1:Street>) and
for “finding” brand new furniture for the lounge. The faculty
senate has appointed a Faculty Lounge Committee that will be a standing
committee renewed every year for day-today operation of the lounge. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>You all are invited now for attending the inauguration and
ribbon-cutting ceremony at <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>Binnion Hall, Room
#126 on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 2:30</span></b>. We will have refreshments for
you. We will introduce the Faculty Lounge Committee on that occasion and hope
that details on operation of the lounge will soon be announced to all of you.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
