The Council for Academic Technology and Innovation<https://www.tamus.edu/catie/> (CATIE) invites you to attend AI‑Driven Filmmaking: Applications in the Classroom, a virtual session on Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m.

In this presentation, John Darbonne will introduce PedaGPU, a cloud‑based platform he developed at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi that gives students access to professional‑grade AI tools for image generation and video synthesis. The presentation will highlight how PedaGPU can be integrated into coursework, feature examples of student projects, and discuss the potential for applying similar approaches across a range of academic disciplines.

John Darbonne is an Assistant Professor of Media Production at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi with more than 25 years of film industry experience, including work on 33 feature films and two screenplays in the Los Angeles studio system. In Spring 2025, he taught the first for‑credit AI Filmmaking course in Texas. His research interests include film education, AI filmmaking, AI ethics, and educational technology.
