Good morning,
Waters Library wants to help you get your research noticed!
One of the best ways to make sure your research is easy to find is to get an ORCID<https://orcid.org/> (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). Your ORCID lets you connect all of your research and publications to your profile and increases visibility of your work.
Another great way to increase the visibility of your work is to include it in the TAMUC institutional repository, Digital Commons<https://digitalcommons.tamuc.edu/>. Digital Commons maintains records searchable in both OneSearch and popular search engines like Google that can help increase your reach both within and outside of the TAMUC community. Additionally, for OER or articles no longer under an embargo, manuscript copies of published papers can be archived in Digital Commons, which means that anyone can access your research without running into a paywall. Digital Commons also uses PlumX Metrics for readership reports, which can support you in your journey to tenure and promotion.
Check out this record for Dr. Roggenkamp's article "Seeing Inside the Mountains: Cynthia Rylant's Appalachian Literature and the 'Hillbilly' Stereotype<https://digitalcommons.tamuc.edu/chssa-faculty-publications/2/>" as an example!
Even better, the library can use your ORCID to add records for all of your linked publications into Digital Commons. You can send your ORCID to the librarian for your department:
