[VPAAEtal] Reminder: PIPER AWARDS

The following is reminder sent on behalf of Dr. Yasemin Atinc, Faculty Senate President, regarding the Minnie Stevens Piper Award nominations.

Dear Colleagues,

The A&M-Commerce Administration has received the attached request for nominations for the "Piper Professors of 2025." The University can nominate only one faculty member each year for this prestigious award. The Faculty Senate Awards Committee will oversee the collection and review of applications from faculty members who wish to be considered for nomination.

The Faculty Senate Awards Committee will then make a recommendation to the full Senate regarding which nominee should move forward. The Senate will subsequently forward its recommendation to the Provost's Office for final consideration by the Provost and President.

If you know of a faculty member who should apply, please encourage them to do so. Nominees should complete Part B of the Piper Professor Nomination Form, which is included with the attached letter to President Rudin. The electronic form is also available online at comptroller.texas.gov/ppnomination<http://comptroller.texas.gov/ppnomination>. Up to five letters of recommendation may be submitted as part of the nomination package. These letters may come from University administrators, fellow faculty members, and current or former students.

The Provost's Office has requested that nomination materials be submitted by November 8, 2024. Application materials must be submitted to the Faculty Senate Awards Committee at Faculty.Awards at tamuc.edu<mailto:Faculty.Awards at tamuc.edu> by October 25, 2024. Only applications received by the October 25 deadline will be considered by the Committee.
