Dear Faculty,
As a reminder, many course evaluations for Spring 2023 are currently live and will close on May 5th at 10:59 PM CST. We kindly request that you encourage your students to complete the course evaluations and help improve the overall response rate of our teaching effectiveness. Students can access the course evaluation through D2L, automated evaluation emails they receive, or using this link, http://tamuc.bluera.com/tamuc/
There are multiple methods you can use to encourage a high response rate. Here are a few strategies that have proven to increase participation.

  * Set aside the class time: Students are more likely to complete evaluations if a small amount of class time is set aside, and evaluations can be completed through mobile devices as well as computers. You can also share a QR code with your students<https://inside.tamuc.edu/facultyStaffServices/academicTechnology/_documents/Sharing%20Couse%20Evaluation%20Link%20or%20QR%20Code%20Using%20Blue.pdf> in the classroom by using eXplorance’s Blue portal.
  * Offer incentives: Students are more likely to complete evaluation for an incentive such as extra credit. But keep in mind, any extra credit you choose to offer should typically be no more than 1-2% of the overall course grade. For example, if the course total point is 100, providing extra credit of 1-2 points would be appropriate.
  * Explain the evaluation process: Faculty are welcome to provide a brief description of the evaluation process and its use in the future. Faculty engagement not only leads to a better response rate but also better quality feedback. We ask that you inform your students that these evaluations are anonymous, and faculty will only see aggregated survey results after grades are posted.

Please reach out to Course.Evaluations at tamuc.edu<mailto:Course.Evaluations at tamuc.edu> for questions or concerns. We appreciate your cooperation in this important matter.
