REMINDER: DEADLINE TOMORROW
Call for Chancellor’s Academy of Teacher Educators (CATE) Nominations

The Chancellor’s Academy of Teacher Educators (CATE) Nomination Committee is seeking nominations for consideration in this year’s selection process. Dr. Juan Araujo, CATE Nomination Committee Chair, asked that nominations be submitted to him via email at Juan.Araujo at tamuc.edu<mailto:Juan.Araujo at tamuc.edu> no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022.

CATE recognizes and honors both individuals and university teams who are making noteworthy and exemplary contributions to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement in teacher preparation. This award is not limited to any college or department – all teacher preparation pathways are to be included.

Each year, up to three (3) individuals with particularly noteworthy contributions, and up to three (3) exemplary university teams, may be inducted into CATE. Teams may consist of up to five (5) individuals and consist primarily of faculty, although may include an administrator when and if that administrator played a central and engaged role as a member of the team. At a minimum, nominees (individual or team members) for this award must:
·         work directly in the preparation of teachers, and demonstrate noteworthy and exemplary contributions to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement in teacher preparation;
· be reviewed, approved, and recommended by the Provost. The Provost will determine the type of committee and process that will be used at the university.

CATE inductees may be inducted once as an individual, and also once as part of a team, but not in the same year. A university that received a team CATE award will not be eligible for the team award in the year immediately following their award year.

Nominations may originate from the dean or other college administrators, department chairs, program directors, department committees, individual faculty, staff, or students. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Detailed guidelines, along with the new online nomination submission portal, are available on the CATE webpage (www.tamus.edu/academic/awards-recognition/cate-award<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.tamus.edu_academic_awards-2Drecognition_cate-2Daward&d=DwMF-g&c=oqyuZuih6ykib6aKiBq22_bich4AVfYGoLertJN0bEc&r=eP95tRrOk4p1coIu_5xesBs3L3P2KcK2RGFbrcN1hXg&m=nsXc6HJLWcoc1xB0cmyH3tZdogp_xioeqbXuQVij0WS5h6BFJU7BLiDcBXU69Gi-&s=QKAjP4c8e0VduJ3bV57j4mbe1vHw3jy5y5ryK9p8sc4&e=>).
