Dear Colleagues,

A&M-Commerce Administration has received the attached request for nominations for "Piper Professors of 2023."  The University can nominate only one faculty member each year for the award. The Faculty Senate Awards Committee will manage the collection and review of applications for faculty members who wish to be considered for nomination.

The Faculty Senate Awards Committee will make a recommendation to the full Senate regarding which nominations should go forward. The Senate will then forward its recommendation to the Provost's office for final consideration by the Provost and the President.

If you know of a faculty member who should apply, please encourage that individual to do so. Nominees should complete Part B of the Piper Professor Nomination Form, which is included with the attached letter to President Rudin. The electronic form is available online at www.comptroller.texas.gov/ppnomination<http://www.comptroller.texas.gov/ppnomination>. Up to five letters of recommendation may also be submitted as part of the nomination package, and these recommendation letters may be from University administrators, fellow faculty and current or former students.

The Provost's Office has requested nomination materials by November 4, 2022. Application materials should be submitted to the Faculty Senate Awards Committee at Faculty.Awards at tamuc.edu<https://outlook.tamuc.edu/owa/Hongmei.Jia@tamuc.edu/redir.aspx?C=7x7i7CfCCedtJkbvK1N7XkHE9cwcHJ1BxCJntGu4jI8h8V6F95PZCA..&URL=mailto%3aFaculty.Awards%40tamuc.edu> by October 24, 2022.  The Committee will only consider applications received  on or before the October 24, 2022 deadline.
