[VPAAEtal] GLEAN Note Taking

Welcome back to a new semester!

TAMUC Student Disability Services and Resources is pleased to announce that we are piloting a technology-based note taking system named "GLEAN"  to support students who require note taking services and enable those students to independently create their own notes.  The goal of this pilot is to enhance student engagement within the class, promote independence, engage critical thinking, and enable the student to create notes independently at home, with as much time as needed.  Not only does this enable the student to independently create meaningful notes; it also enhances learning by having the student engage actively at home through the multi-modalities of repetitiously hearing, reading, and writing notes.  An added benefit is that, by reducing the dependency on a 3rd party note taker and teaching the student how to create his/her own notes, we are also teaching a transferrable job accommodation for the student.
