Please join us on Thursday, April 20 for three different events at the CFEI: Dr. Robynne Lock's Faculty Fellowship<http://www.tamuc.edu/facultyStaffServices/centerForFacultyExcellenceAndInnovation/facultyDevelopment/FacultyFellowships.aspx#lock> presentation, a Faculty LED presentation on music theory pedagogy by Dr. David Davies, and an introduction to Qualtrics by Dr. Dave Giles as part of the Scholarly Research Series<http://www.tamuc.edu/facultyStaffServices/centerForFacultyExcellenceAndInnovation/rsca/ScholarlyResearchSeries.aspx>.

[Presenter: Dr. David Davies.  Title: Experiencing Music: The Challenge of Adapting Music Theory Pedagogy to Meet 21st Century Needs.  Description: Dr. Davies will give a review of traditional pedagogical approaches and his efforts to adapt them to a rapidly changing field. Special attention will be given to the observation of the "Experiential Music Curriculum" at the University of Miami.  Date: April 20, 2017, 1:30-2:00 p.m.  Location: CFEI Conference Room, Gee Library Suite 173  2015-16 Faculty Fellow Dr. Robynne M. Lock presents Transforming a Course to Studio Mode: Strategies for Creating a Student-Centered Active Learning Environment. Dr. Lock will give a brief overview of the implementation of studio mode in physics and the ongoing efforts in the program. This will include the reporting of data showing its success. The remainder of the workshop will be participant-centred and focus on how what has worked in physics can be adapted for other departments. Date: April 20, 2017, 2:00-3:00 p.m. Location: CFEI Conference Room, Gee Library Suite 173.  Title: Qualtrics--It's a Beautiful Tool, But I Can't Use It.  Description: Need help getting started with Qualtrics? In this mini workshop, you will receive peer-to-peer support from a  research ambassador who will help you to familiarize with the basics of Qualtrics and how to use the software. This session is introductory and targeted at attendees who have little or no experience with Qualtrics and those who need a re-fresher before undertaking their next survey task.
