Dear members of the Texas A&M University-Commerce community,

With great professional satisfaction and personal pride, I am delighted to announce that the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System has honored Dr. Srinivas Nippani with this year's Regents Professor Award-the System's highest distinction for exemplary performance and professional service by a faculty member. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Nippani, our Economics and Finance Department, and our College of Business for this award. This coming spring semester we will have a formal convocation to honor Dr. Nippani and his family for this wonderful achievement.

Dr. Nippani joined Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2002 as an assistant professor of finance. He also serves on the editorial boards of two journals and served as an ad hoc reviewer for sixteen academic journals. He served a two year term on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Finance Association. He also served on the program committee of SWFA for a number of years. Dr. Nippani was the first director of the MS Finance program at Texas A&M University-Commerce. His work in creating, planning and coordinating this program was very instrumental in its success. He also chairs the Faculty Committee in the College of Business. This committee oversees AACSB accreditation, ethics, hiring procedures and tenure procedures. He also served as chair of the Academic Life Committee while serving on the faculty senate. He is a mentor for junior faculty in the college.

His two recent works on Treasury Default risk published in the Journal of Fixed Income, a top journal with three Nobel Prize winners on its board of editors have been both summarized twice in the CFA Digest, the leading outlet for finance practitioners.
