[VPAAEtal] 3rd Annual Drum Fun! April 9th & 10th

Please join the Percussion Association for our 3rd Annual Drum Fun! Events next week.

We have our Percussion Ensemble I and Panimation Steel Drum Band performing a concert on Thursday, April 9th at 7:30 pm in the Music Building. The groups will play a wide variety of pieces and feature student soloists, large ensembles, faculty performances, and the always-favorite, Panimation Steel Drum Band.

Then, on Friday, April 10th, from 5-7 pm, join us in the campus Amphitheater (rain location-Music Building) for our Drum-themed Carnival, DRUM FUN! This event is free and open to anyone from campus, Commerce and surrounding communities.

List of Activities:

·      Percussion Petting Zoo (many different hands-on instruments to play and learn about)

·      Drum Circle by professional drum facilitator, Michael Kenny (no experience necessary)

·      Drum-themed Carnival Games – Bean-bag Toss into Drums, Drumming Obstacle Course, Gong Darts, Rudimental Logic, and more

·      Concerts by the Panimation Steel Band, Pan 2, and Samba Leão Brazilian Ensemble

Cost: All events are FREE, but donations are gladly accepted. Food will be available for purchase.
