Greetings Faculty!

The Center for Faculty Excellence & Innovation (CFEI or Faculty Center) would like to announce several beginning-of-term resources to help you with a smooth transition this Fall 2014 semester.


1)      The CFEI has purchased a 1-year membership to 20 Minute Mentor Commons, which is a media resource library specifically for Faculty. Please see the attached flyer for how to access the library anytime this 2014-2015 academic year.

2)      The CFEI is launching its new website this week with more resources to support your work with teaching, scholarship, and engagement in service. Stay tuned!

3)      The CFEI has also scheduled a Faculty Focus online seminar, 10 Ways to Improve Blended Learning Course Design in 2014. The online seminar will take place on 8/21/14 from 1:00-2:00pm at the CFEI Conference Room (AgIT 222). While the CFEI website is under construction, please call 903-886-5511 or email CFEI.FacultyDev at tamuc.edu<mailto:CFEI.FacultyDev at tamuc.edu> to register. After the seminar, all Faculty will have access to the video, PowerPoint handout, transcript, and additional materials for the next 30 days. You will also need to register to receive access to these materials. 4)      The CFEI will be offering an array of professional development opportunities over the course of the semester. Please refer to the new, coming soon, CFEI website to view the list of upcoming professional development events (found at CFEI website --> Faculty Development --> Calendar of Events) and service opportunities (found at CFEI website --> Service). You may also view the same professional development events on the Texas A&M-Commerce EMS Calendar of Events. The first few sessions include:

a.       Course Design: Developing Student Learning Outcomes presented by Dr. Julia Susan Frink on 8/21/14 from 2:00-2:50pm and 8/22/14 from 10:00-10:50am.

b.      Pearson Learning Studio (eCollege) Live Support presented by Dr. Daryl Tate and Anne Phifer on 8/21/14 from 3:00-5:00pm and 8/29/14 from 9:00-11:00am. (Additionally, all Faculty can access the self-paced eLearning course tutorial, .NExT Instructional Design Tutorial, within Pearson LearningStudio (eCollege) listed under My Courses.)
