Education 360: Mini-Symposium

President Jones and the Faculty Center for Teaching with Technology
invite you to join them for this Education 360: Mini-Symposium. The
symposium will feature open roundtable discussions on four Education 360
topics. You are encouraged to attend and engage in thought-provoking
conversations whether you are familiar with these topics or if the
topics are new to you. This is an opportunity for you to learn about
some of the new innovative strategies happening in higher education,
particularly the A&M System.  The Mini-Symposium will be divided into
two, 45-minute breakout sessions which include all four discussion
topics in order for attendees to participate in more than one
roundtable. 

 

MOOCs: For-Credit or Non-Credit?

MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses)-Created first to be open/free for
desired learning.  Recently, the focus has been directed to individuals
seeking academic credit/certificates at a reduced cost or flat fee and
how institutions can assist.    

 

Online: Share & Share Alike 

Formally known as Course Exchange Program (CEP), the primary focus is
how online courses may be shared by A&M System institutions. 

 

Learning Emporium: Mind the "Gaps"

Online instruction (not courses) focused on preparing students for
credit based instruction, filling in "gaps" in their prior learning to
facilitate their success. 

 

Prior Learning Assessment: Make It Count?

An evaluation and assessment of an individual's life learning for
college credit, certification, or advanced standing toward further
education or training.
