University Community,

 

The Orientation Office and the Student Access & Success Division
leadership team continue to work hard to ensure our new student programs
and services facilitate a smooth and successful transition for our new
students. Therefore, we sincerely appreciate the support and
contributions made by everyone on our campus to our Orientation program.

 

Communication is of major importance in this effort, therefore, we
wanted to provide you with our New Student Orientation Session dates for
the 2011 Summer season. These have been approved by the University
administration and the appropriate leadership councils. We ask that you
please mark your calendar accordingly.

     Please note that as we continue to strive for a healthy growth in
our enrollment, it is important to encourage students to attend
orientation early so that they have more course scheduling options. 

 

PLEASE feel free to forward and share this announcement with your staff
and other key players in your respective areas such as clerical or
student staff as well as faculty advisors that might have been
unintentionally left out or may not have access to email.

 

I thank you for your support and cooperation as we work to ensure the
best and most efficient New Student Orientation sessions for the coming
year. Finally, details and additional updates regarding the orientation
sessions and orientation procedures and policies will be forthcoming as
they are finalized. These will be shared via periodic e-mails to the
appropriate orientation contacts throughout the University. Please work
with your college, department and/or office's leadership if you would
like to be designated or added as the orientation contact so that this
can be communicated appropriately to our office to ensure your inclusion
in future communications. In addition this year we will be launching a
"Faculty/Staff" section on our orientation webpage that will have
information and updates as well as FAQ's for university faculty and
staff so you can easily access the information you need as you prepare
for orientation and serve our incoming students.
