[VPAAEtal] Teaching Excellence Award Program Registration

The Texas A&M University System will continue to support the Award for
Teaching Excellence for the Fall 2010 term.  At A&M-Commerce, 26 faculty
won cash awards for the Spring of 2010.  Now is the time for all faculty
to enroll in the awards program for Fall 2010.  The deadline to enroll
is November 12.  Students will begin evaluations on November 13.
Participation in the program will continue to be voluntary, however,
there are a few changes to the guidelines.  The name of the program is
the "A&M System Student Recognition Award for Teaching Excellence".  The
guidelines are as follows:

 

1.    Participation in the A&M System Student Recognition Award for
Teaching Excellence is voluntary. 

 

2.    Eligible faculty members include:

a.    Graduate Assistant, Adjunct, Lecturer, Instructor, Assistant,
Associate and Full Professors

b.    Full-Time or Part-Time

c.    Tenure, Tenure-Track and Non-Tenure Track

 

3.   Eligible classes include:

      a.   Classes of 3 semester credit hours (SCH) or more   

      b.   Classes with an enrollment of 15 or more students

      c.   Classes must have at least 12 responses or a 50% response
rate (whichever is greater) 

 

4.    Awards shall be based on the average score of the evaluation form
which is comprised of sixteen questions.  Award recipients must be in
good standing with the institution during the term for which the award
is given.

 

5.    The awards shall be based on the ranking of the faculty's student
evaluation score, highest to lowest.  Faculty members in the top 25%
shall receive an award in the amount of $2,500.

 

6.    Faculty are eligible to receive an award in each semester (fall
and spring). Eligibility is based upon each individual course taught and
not based upon the average of their course scores.  A course with a
single lecture time, but with multiple laboratory times will be
considered as an individual course.

*         Sign in on your My Leo account

*         Click on the "Teaching Excellence Award Program Registration"
link

*         Select the check box for each course that meets the guidelines

*         Select, Enroll  (The deadline to enroll is Friday, November
12.)
