[VPAAEtal] James G. Gee Library Banned Books Week Presentation

[Academic Affairs]

The library will be presenting the 1956 film "Storm Center" on
Thursday, October 1, at 3:30 pm in the second floor lobby area. "Storm
Center", starring Bette Davis and Brian Keith deals with a dilemma
faced by a small town librarian who is asked to remove an objectionable
book from the library shelves. This rare classic ideally illustrates the
issues raised by Banned Books Week. The viewing will be accompanied with
a discussion of first amendment rights and the freedom to read.
