Mini-Grant Competition
The A&M-Commerce Faculty Mini-grant Program offers support for research
and creative activities. Its primary purpose is to provide seed money to
attract extramural funding or to assist faculty members and professional
staff with taking initial steps toward major research projects and
creative activities. Mini-grants of up to $600 are available to
full-time faculty members and professional staff who wish to undertake
or continue a research project.
The proposal should explain the project, the methodology to be used,
expected outcome and how the funds will be utilized.
Funds can be used for almost any aspect of a research project or
creative activity, except to supplement salaries. Purchase of equipment,
printing, postage, data searches, data collection and student wages are
among the services for which mini-grant funds can be used.
Interested individuals should submit a 1-2 page proposal describing the
project and project budget. Also required is a 2-page curriculum vita,
which should contain a bibliographical essay or bibliographic
information, including activities and publications that support your
expertise to carry out the proposed work. Limit CV to two pages, which
contain appropriate information to demonstrate qualifications to carry
out proposed research.
Submit complete mini-grant proposal to Natalie Henderson
(natalie_henderson at tamu-commerce.edu) in the Office of Graduate Studies
and Research by 5:00 p.m., November 2, 2009. Additional information is

priority consideration. Recipients will have until the end of the
academic year to utilize the funds. Applicants will be notified as to
