Dr Salvatore Attardo is a Professor and Head of the Department of
Literature and Languages. He holds degrees from The Catholic University
of Milan (1986) and Purdue University (PhD 1991). He has published two
books on the linguistics of humor and is the Editor-in-Chief of HUMOR:
International Journal of Humor Research. He has also published
extensively in pragmatics and semantics, primarily on issues relating to
implicatures, irony, rationality and more generally on Neo-Gricean
Pragmatics.

 

Dr. Tabetha Adkins is Assistant Professor of English and Director of the
Writing Center/ Communication Skills Center.  Her scholarship focuses on
literacy studies, research methods, and gender studies.  She is
currently working on a book based on her ethnographic research of the
literacy practices of an Amish community in southeast Ohio.
