Soliciting Feedback for the Proposed Center for Teaching and Learning
(Deadline 11-30)
President Jones has asked the Faculty Development Committee to develop a
proposal for a Center of Teaching and Learning. As part of the process
of developing the proposal, I am soliciting input from administrators,
faculty, and staff on campus.
Email me at Robin_Reid at tamu-commerce.edu by Monday, November 30.
Questions the Committee is particularly interested in include:
What services would you like to see offered by a Center for Teaching and
Learning (CTL)?
What concerns or suggestions regarding the CTL do you have?
If you have worked at a university with such a Center, can you recommend
it as a model?
For Faculty: How often do you feedback from mentor teachers or your
department head about your instruction?
Other than student evaluations, what methods are used in your department
to evaluate quality of instruction?
What are the strengths/challenges in quality instruction for you as a
teacher?
Thank you!
