Dear Faculty/Staff Member,

 

The Office of Orientation is seeking students who exemplify integrity,
scholarship, community, creativity and excellence to represent Texas A&M
University-Commerce as a New Student Mentor/Orientation Leader for
Orientation 2009. As a valued member of the A&M-Commerce community, I
would like to invite you to nominate an undergraduate student that you
would like to see represent A&M-Commerce to new students. The student(s)
you nominate will receive a letter informing them of their nomination,
explaining the position, the application and the interview process. The
students selected from the interview process will represent our
university as members of the orientation staff throughout the summer and
academic year.

 

These students will work with incoming freshmen and transfer students in
a series of two-day overnight sessions, serving as peer leaders, group
facilitators, resource persons, role models and ambassadors for
A&M-Commerce. They will also assist faculty and staff members from
departments across the university in the advising and registration
process. Students selected are compensated with a competitive hourly
wage as well as other incentives.

enclosed. The deadline for nominations is Friday November 21, 2008. If

In addition, you could also help us spread the word about these
positions by announcing them in your classes and encouraging students to
seek more information and possibly apply. Please do not hesitate to
