for Graduate Studies and Research. Graduate Council should make informed
decisions on policies that affect graduate education. He encouraged members
to step outside their discipline's knowledge pool to become knowledgeable
about various issues. In order to stay on the cutting edge of graduate
education, committee members should gather information about issues their
committee is considering and should know what other institutions are doing.
The Graduate School will assist with travel for committee members to attend
workshops or conferences concerning important issues.
Dr. Travis reported to the Council that the format for the Graduate
Roundtables has been modified. He will meet with each department
individually to discuss their concerns and challenges.
