A 2-hour seminar entitled "Competing for Federal Research Funding: Funding
Sources and Strategies for Writing Successful Proposals" will be presented
via TTVN on Thursday, December 9, 2004 from 3 - 5 p.m.
The seminar is offered by the Office of the Vice President for
Research/Office of Proposal Development at Texas A&M University in
partnership with the A&M System Pathways Program and the Office of the Vice
Chancellor for Research and Federal Relations.
The seminar will cover: strategies for analyzing the goals and cultures of
federal agencies that fund research and understanding how they evaluate
research proposals; ways to use that knowledge to make your proposal more
competitive; information on the funding mechanisms and cultures of specific
funding agencies, including the National Science Foundation and the National
Institutes of Health. Depending on audience interest, other agencies may be
discussed, including NASA, Department of Education, Department of Energy,
Department of Defense and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration.
Questions during the seminar are encouraged. In order to accommodate
questions arising during the seminar, we will have a phone available for
calling in during the seminar. Once the call in number is available, we will
provide that to you.
