THE UNIVERSITY PLAYHOUSE PRESENTS

Squeeze Plays

November 11-14 and 18-20

The University Playhouse at A&M-Commerce has a reputation for producing the
best new works for the stage, so when we put out a call for script
submissions, entries poured in from across the U.S. and Canada. In thirty
days, we received over 100 plays.
The results of this contest became Squeeze Plays. The rules of the
competition required that all action take place within an 8'x 8' space.
Characters include prehistoric cave dwellers, five bugs in a jar, the
outlaws Jesse and Frank James, along with their ego-driven mother, as well
as an assortment of other claustrophobic creatures. Plots range from sexy
to sweet; from poignant to profound. This is a fast-paced production with
enough variety to engage even the shortest attention span. You won't find
anything like it anywhere else.
Performances are in the Performing Arts Center Studio Theatre. Seating is
limited to 75, so reservations are a good idea. Dates are: November 11-13
and 18-20 at 8:00 PM. There is a matinee performance at 3:00 PM, Sunday,
November 14. For more information and to reserve your tickets, call:
903-886-5900.
