Greetings TX-SPEED,
I wanted to forward some information regarding some upgrades we're making to
the UT SPEEDE server (see below). This will require some action on the part
of the users of the server. Please forward to any appropriate individuals.
Thank you.

Greetings SPEEDE users:
We will be performing some upgrades to the SPEEDE server over the next few
weeks, and we wanted to inform you about our plans and let you know what
we'll be asking of you. These actions on your part will allow us to put a
new machine in place and alleviate some load issues that we're seeing.
1. Starting from today onward, please send all support requests /
suggestions / questions to support at transfer.reg.utexas.edu. We will be
removing the current `regist' email address in the near future.
2. For all SFTP users, please add a firewall rule to your network to
allow traffic from 146.6.21.131 port 22 . Once you have added the rule,
please let us know at support at transfer.reg.utexas.edu.
3. For all FTPS users, please add firewall rule to your network to allow
traffic from 146.6.21.131 port 21 and port 20. Once you have added the
rule, please let us know at support at transfer.reg.utexas.edu.
4. For all pgp/gpg users, we recommend and encourage you to change your
method of transport to either SFTP and FTPS. If you are able to make this
change, please let us know by sending a request to
support at transfer.reg.utexas.edu.
If for some reason you are not able to make this change and wish to continue
using pgp/gpg, please download the public key from the following web site
http://www.utexas.edu/student/giac/speede/support_delivery.asc to encrypt a
test file and email the encrypted test file to support at transfer.utexas.edu.
We will then contact you about further steps in the testing process.
The testing phase will be completed as of July 30, 2010. After that, we
plan to put the new machine into production on August 4, 2010. On that day,
we will also shut down the old machine. Since we do not wish to ask you to
back out your changes, it is imperative that everyone engage in this testing
process so that we know the new machine interacts with your systems properly
before we make the switchover.
Please forward this email to any appropriate individuals.
If you have any questions or comments, please let us know at
support at transfer.reg.utexas.edu.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
